Background & Experience
Carrie began her career in accounting by completing an internship with PKM in 2003. After graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Masters of Accountancy from Georgia Southern University in 2004, she began working at PKM primarily in the financial institution industry. Since joining PKM, her experience has expanded to include assurance and advisory services for companies within the insurance industry and broker-dealer firms. She also has experience in service organization audits of third party service providers. Carrie is experienced in both public and non-public financial statement audits, employee benefit plan audits, regulatory compliance audits, and fraud and forensic accounting. Carrie is also experienced in helping financial institutions develop risk assessment tools tailored for their unique circumstances. She has assisted denovo institutions transition from an organizational stage to fully operational companies. Carrie also has extensive experience administering and performing Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance for accelerated filers and smaller reporting companies, FDICIA compliance and operations and financial internal audits. Carrie heads up the firm’s internal training program, PKM University (“PKMU”), which serves to train the firm’s assurance professionals on topics such as risk assessment execution, mergers & acquisition accounting, COSO 2013, and internal controls. Additionally, she is involved with PKM’s recruiting efforts.

Hobbies & Interests
Carrie is a Georgia Southern University football fan and enjoys cheering the Eagles on in her hometown of Statesboro, Georgia. Carrie enjoys cooking and is always up for trying new culinary experiences. She also loves to travel and spend time with her friends, family and her dogs, Otis and Brownie.
