Teaching an Old Dog New Tricks

Audit Senior

I could not have asked for a better place to begin my career after college. There is not one day that I have regretted or questioned my decision to join PKM. Over the last 7 years I have worked on external and internal audits for a number of financial institutions and also been a part of our insurance audit practice.

Risk Advisory Services

When I was approached about a year ago for the opportunity to transition into our Risk Advisory Services (RAS) practice, I was definitely nervous. It is always hard to make the decision to change from what you know and love so well. I was approached by a Partner who I greatly respect and have enjoyed working with over the last 7 years. He made the decision to be one of the leaders to develop our RAS group.

I decided to join the group and will use the next year to transition over. I have recently moved away from financial statement audits into mostly internal audit work. I have also started to work in our compliance practice. While it is scary and frustrating at times, I see this as a wonderful opportunity with a lot growth potential for myself. There is always a way to teach an old dog new tricks!
