Flexibility is key
I would have to say that one of the best parts of working at PKM for me is their flexibility. As a mother of two, that is an important trait for an employer to have. I have heard the spiel before about flexibility, but PKM does not just talk the talk, they walk the walk too.
It is not always easy getting downtown with all the activities that bring traffic, therefore it is wonderful to have other options. With the merger last year with Holbrook Hicks and Associates, PKM gained a second location in Sandy Springs which is available for any PKM employee to work from. Even with two great locations, it is always good to have the third option to work off site. This could be that you are at home with a sick child, stuck because of bad weather, or traveling for a client and able to do some catch up work from a hotel room. However, this does mean that “snow days” are a thing of the past.
The multiple working locations are not the only thing that is flexible at PKM; the hours can be flexible as well. For those of us with school aged children, there are times when going to a school activity may bring us to work late or have us leaving early. In these cases it is always nice to know that those late mornings can be made up with a late night or vice versa.
Last but not least, it’s great to have the flexibility with your position at PKM. The structure of the company is set up so that if you find another tear you would like to work for all you have to do is ask. If there is a position available and you would be a good fit, you can change from Audit to Tax or Tax to Systems or… you get the picture. So as you can see, PKM has flexibility in several ways and I believe that flexibility is a key aspect of any company.
