Christian Albarracin- Audit Staff

PKM was recently named the nation’s second best mid-sized accounting firm to work for, which as an employee, comes as no surprise. 75% of our overall score was based on employee feedback, which really says a lot about the culture here at PKM. In our workplace, each and every employee is viewed as a vital member of the team. The congenial culture at PKM makes the workplace environment feel more like a home than a place of work at all. Regardless of where we reside in the pecking order, everyone interacts and it is almost impossible to tell whether you are relating with a partner or a peer. The management team is constantly coming up with new and innovative ways of presenting our corporate image to employees. I have noticed that we have gone against the traditional, “accounting firm approach” time and time again by creating things like a video based newsletter. PKM prides itself on keeping its employees well-versed on what the firm is trying to accomplish by providing frequent updates. We even have an annual “State of the Firm” address which gives everyone a chance to get together, since more often than not we aren’t in the office at the same time. Management sends out regular e-mails to us congratulating individuals on passing the CPA exam, promotions, and other newsworthy happenings to make sure we all stay connected on a personal level. Additionally, PKM offers many company-wide challenges, outings and social gatherings which I always enjoy being a part of. PKM is fundamentally based on employee happiness and you wouldn’t believe how little things that may seem trivial, like doughnuts on Fridays and fresh fruit every week, really do add up in the long run!
