Background & Experience
Sarah joins PKM as a Partner with more than 30 years of experience working with financial institutions. Early in her career, Sarah spent 10 years managing key areas of financial institutions, including Compliance, BSA, CRA, Training, and Branch Operations. Prior to joining PKM, Sarah spent more than 20 years as a co-founder and Principal of Credit & Compliance Financial Resources, Inc., working to help financial institutions comply with increasingly complex federal consumer compliance laws and regulations. Sarah’s varied background offers our clients the perspective of a career community banker. She has helped numerous banks struggling with unsatisfactory regulatory ratings to attain satisfactory or higher ratings, eliminating exhaustive reporting requirements, branching restrictions, and extensive monitoring by their regulatory agencies. Sarah specializes in assessing, implementing, and overseeing consumer compliance programs in small and medium-sized financial institutions, from the initial development of policies and procedures to employee and Board training, and ongoing monitoring of the bank’s compliance program. Sarah is a founding faculty member of the Community Bankers Association (CBA)’s Consumer Lending School, which started in 1996 and continues today. Sarah has been a presenter at the Georgia Bankers Association (GBA)’s Banking School, and served as a speaker at the 2009 GBA Credit Conference, the GBA CEO/Executive Management Academy, and the GBA Compliance Roundtable.
